The Patient-Centered Medical Home
The Patient-Centered Medical Home designation is a relatively new one given to primary care physicians who meet certain standards in coordinating care for their patients. Novant Health Premier Medical Associates earned the designation because of our commitment to providing seamless care to our patients. We work to integrate care in our office, and any care required from a specialist or at a hospital. We also strive to include caregivers and other physicians in each patient's network of care.
Joint Commission Accreditation
At least once every three years Novant Health practices undergo a rigorous approval process by the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). JCAHO is an independent, not-for-profit organization which sets the standards by which healthcare quality is measured in America and around the world. Our practices are among the nearly 16,000 healthcare organizations that JCAHO evaluated for the quality and safety of care.
To maintain and earn accreditation, some practices undergo an extensive on-site review by a team of JCAHO healthcare professionals. The purpose of the review is to evaluate the organization's performance in areas that affect your care. Accreditation may be awarded based on how well the organizations met JCAHO standards.
National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA)
Some of the Novant Health physicians and practices have been recognized by NCQA for providing quality care for patients. (See NCQA for more information)
Our parent company, Novant Health, has been nationally recognized as the "Best in Industry for Working Mothers" by Working Mother magazine and one of the "Top 40 Family-Friendly NC Companies" by Charlotte Parent and Piedmont Parent magazines.
